About the Science Club
The Science Club is open to any Glenforest S.S. students.
The club meets every Thursday afterschool (from 3:05pm to about 4:30pm) in room 102
New members are always welcome!
The club organizes and/or runs:
- Science Tutoring Sessions
(Tutoring sessions are FREE and are offered on Mondays and Wednesdays during periods 3 & 4.
Volunteer tutors are selected and/or recommended by science teachers and have very strong science and math backgrounds)
- Experiments and mini-competitions
(The club will run various experiments such as rock candies making, dissection, slime making and mini-competitions such as
Popsticle sticks building contest for interested members)
- Science Fair
(The club offers information and advice to students who wish to participate in the Peel Regional Science Fair)
- Various Science/Engineering/Environmental Competitions
(The club offers information, assistance, and materials to students who wish to participate in various science/engineering/environmental competitions such as the Crystal Growing Contest and the University of Waterloo physics and chemistry contests.)
- Science Day Celebrations
(The club celebrates special science days such as "Mole Day" and Earth Day.)
- Other Science/Engineering/Environmental Events
(Guest Speakers, trips and other events to be announced at a later date)
