Science Tutoring Sessions Information
Any students interested in applying to be a tutor should request a Science Tutor Application form from the library.
Goals of Science Tutoring
- Improve students knowledge of science-related topics through one-on-one or small group tutoring
- Provide opportunities for tutors to gain tutoring/teaching experience
- Provide opportunities for tutors to earn activity point hours, community volunteer hours, and IB CAS hours
Tutoring sessions Info
- Mondays & Wednesdays
- Periods 2 (10:40 - 11:09), 3 (11:45 - 12:25) & 4 (1:00 - 1:40)
- Room - To be announced
- Tutoring sessions are "Drop-in" sessions
- Teachers may also request students to attend tutoring sessions to help improve their science marks.
Tutor Backgrounds
- All tutors must have strong academic background in science and math courses
- Minimum mark requirements of tutors: 85% in science courses, min. 80% in math courses
- Minimum grade level of tutors: Grade 10 academic science
- All tutors must be selected and/or recommended by a science teacher
Note to Tutors: If you cannot attend a tutoring session, please notify the science club via email (gfss.scienceclub@gmail.com) at least 1 day in advance
